Back in 1984 or so - I remember hearing
Stevie Ray Vaughans' "Couldn't Stand the Weather" and "Scuttle Buttin'" -
the feeling and energy conveyed by these songs was unlike anything I'd
previously heard - and inspired me to begin my journey as a guitarist. I feel the guitar is possibly the most expressive instrument - the guitarist is directly fretting / picking / plucking the strings. While there are many other artists whose work I admire and enjoy - the sheer magnitude of tones that guitars have produced in recorded music - and my own noodlings - is unlikely to be surpassed.
